Expectations are high this year for the Senior High Boys Basketball Team. This years team is lead by seniors Brandon Labat, Seth Parish, Hunter Shannon, Josh Graham, Will Ward and Justin Maynard. Also Juniors, Justin Aday, Adam Watson, and Lawson Bonds should have important roles on the team as well.

After having somewhat of a disappointing season last year, this years team is looking to contend for a 4-4a district and Conference Championship.

The Jackets open up with Lamar on November 13 in Yellowjacket Arena.

The Senior High basketball Girls have four seniors leading their team this year. The seniors are A.J. Jones, Lauren Smith, Sara Freeman, and Maggie Pate.

The current record of the senior high basketball girls  is 1 and 2. The Girls defeated Lamar and were beaten by Mtn. View and Beebe.

The next game the Sr. Girls will be competing against Greenbrier, which is an expected win.

After the Greenbrier game the Nemo Vista tournament begins Thursday, November 29th.

Mt. View Jamboree              Brandon Labat, Stinger Reporter

The Mountain View Jamboree is an annual  Jamboree held each year in Mountain View, it  kicks off the new basketball season. The Junior boys and girls as well as the Senior boys and girls all played Mountain View.

One game consisted of four eight minute quarters.  Varsity played about half the game and Junior Varsity the other half. While there was no score recorded for the games all teams felt like they came away victorious.

Some of the CHS cheerleaders this year will be attending the Hula Bowl in, hmm, I wonder, Hawaii! After winning multiple awards at cheer camp in July, providing them with the opportunity to attend either the Orange Bowl in Florida or their chosen destination, they have worked very hard to raise the money and are now left with nothing to do but practice the routine that will be performed at halftime and wait with their mounting excitement. The team has worked very hard for the past year and are looking forward to this reward for their dedication. The girls that will be gone over Thanksgiving Break, and it is easy to assume that this will be one of the greater things that they are thankful for are: Tori Hastings, Brittany Eubanks, A.J. Jones, Lindsey Housely, Rance Huggins, and Kaitlin Davis. We wish the girls luck and cannot wait to hear about their experience.
